His Prayer for Absolution

His Prayer for Absolution

For Those my unbaptized Rhimes,
Writ in my wild unhallowed Times;
For every sentence, clause and word,
That’s not inlaid with Thee, (my Lord)
Forgive me God, and blot each Line
Out of my Book, that is not Thine.
But if, ‘mongst all, thou find’st here one
Worthy thy Benediction;
That One of all the rest, shall be
The Glory of my Work, and Me.

Robert Herrick (1591-1674)

Daffodils

I wandered lonely as a Cloud
That floats on high o’er Vales and Hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd
A host of dancing Daffodills;
Along the Lake, beneath the trees,
Ten thousand dancing in the breeze.

The waves beside them danced, but they
Outdid the sparkling waves in glee:–
A Poet could not but be gay
In such a laughing company:
I gaz’d–and gaz’d–but little thought
What wealth the shew to me had brought:

For oft when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude,
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the Daffodils.

–William Wordsworth (1770-1850)

First Sale at redbubble!

I had my first sale at redbubble today! I sold the previously featured Daffodils, which you can buy here, but since you’ve already seen that one, I’ll insert a picture of Waterfall as a card here. (Hint: Select card format, then choose black as the backing color. It looks better than white with this painting.)

I apparently have no way of knowing who bought it unless you tell me, so I’ll thank you here. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate this, my first sale, and how encouraged and happy I am! Thank you very much!

A Couple of Announcements

The latest Georgia Blog Carnival (#41) posted today, and Elementary History Teacher was kind enough to share my painting of Nick and Lark with everyone. Thanks, EHT!

Also, Lord willing, this evening I will get the last few images uploaded to my redbubble gallery. However, if I’ve left out one of your favorites, please let me know, and I’ll upload it. I’m not leaving out the possibility that I might find an odd piece here and there that I forgot about that I want to share, but for the most part, I expect my future additions to redbubble to be new material.

That’s all the announcements for now. Have a great weekend!
